California Chrome wins the 140th Kentucky Derby, to extend his five race win streak.
California Chrome ran the 1 1/4 mile race at Churchill Downs in 2:03.66 as the 5/2 favorite.
It was also the second Kentucky Derby win for jockey Victor Espinoza, who won in 2002 with War Emblem.
California Chrome is the first California-bred horse to win the Kentucky Derby since Decidedly won in 1962.
Commanding Curve finished second followed by Danza in third place out of the field of 19 horses.
