Lakers shine brighter than the Suns in Triple Overtime with a final score of 139-137
The Los Angeles Lakers gave the Phoenix Suns all they were able to handle until they fell after the third overtime by the score of 139-137.
Lakers Kobe Bryant was one assist shy of a triple double, as he had another great performance raking in 42 points along with 12 rebounds, and 9 assists.
While Lamar Odom had 29 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and Pau Gasol contributed with 24 points and 13 rebounds for the Lakers.
Suns’ Steve Nash had 19 points and 20 assists while Channing Frye had a career high 32 points and 14 rebounds that helped keep the Suns in the game.
The Suns didn’t give up hope as they had to come back from a 21 point deficit to the Lakers in the third quarter to keep the game close as the Lakers began to relax on defense, giving the Suns the shot to come back.
The Lakers’ reserves nearly almost gave the game away in the fourth quarter as the Suns continued to battle their way back into the game but the Lakers were still able to keep the game close causing the two teams to go into overtime.
The game could have ended near the end of any of the first two overtimes, but both teams fought endlessly until the Suns caved in near the end as the Lakers’ fans inside of the Staples Center erupted as they got behind their team to give them the winning edge.
The Lakers-Suns game is the highest scoring game this season in the NBA combining for a total of 276 points scored.
