Alex Ovechkin named NHL’s 2013 MVP

Washington Capitals captainWashington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin wins the Hart Trophy.

The Trophy is given to the NHL’s MVP for that season.

It is the third time he has won the Hart Trophy in his career.

Ovechkin led league during the  2013 NHL shortened lockout season with 32 goals in 48 games played

Also for leading the league in goals, he won his third Maurice Richard Trophy.

Ovechkin won the Hart Trophy for the first time in 2008.

He followed up the 2008 season by winning the trophy again in 2009 for the second time in his career.
