The Los Angeles Clippers have agreed in principle with the Boston Celtics to acquire coach Doc Rivers.
The deal is currently pending league approval.
If the trade is approved, the Clippers will send a 2015 1st-round draft pick to the Celtics.
The Clippers would assume the rest of Rivers’ 3-year contract worth $21 million.
Rivers has spent the last nine years as head coach of the Celtics.
Prior to his time in Boston, he spent five seasons as coach of the Orlando Magic.
Over the past few weeks, Rivers has been in the middle of multiple stories including trade rumors and reports that Rivers almost got into a fight with his point guard Rajon Rondo.
