The Boston Celtics hang on in a close one by the score of 118 to 116
For as hyped up as the game was between the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics, it matched and probably surpassed it.
Both teams came into Wednesday’s game on a hot streak of wins, the Celtics on a 10 game win streak, while the Knicks were on an eight-game win streak of their own.
With both teams knowing of one another’s hot streak, they knew that something had to give and they left it all on the court in the history stadium of Madison Squared Garden.
Celtics’ Paul Pierce shot the tie-breaker with 0.4 seconds left on the clock, after not having the lead since early in the first quarter.
As the game seemed to be all but over the Knicks in bounded the ball to Amare Stoudemire who shot an amazing 3-pointer for the potenital win. Even with the shot being made it was not shot until after the buzzard making the shot no good.
The Celtics left MSG with the win increasing their streak to 11 while snapping New York’s eight game win streak.
After the game Pierce said
“The Knicks have arrived! They’re going to be a force to reckon with in the division.”
Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen also played a key role in the game as the Big Three of Allen, Garnett, and Pierce enjoy their fifth win streak of ten or more since they teamed up for 07’-08’ season.
The Celtics plan to keep their streak alive as they take on the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night. The Knicks look to bounce back as they welcome the Miami Heat to Madison Square Garden on Friday.
