It’s that time of year again! The 2013 Slammy Awards, and no better way to close in on another great year than to award some of WWE’s most talented superstars! The Slammy Awards took place last year on December 17, 2012 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This year, the date and place has been undecided, however we know that it will indeed take place in December.
According to prowrestling.wikia.com, the 2013 Slammy Awards will only present 8 awards this year, as opposed to last years 19 awards. This could be wrong, (and I believe it is), because the math just doesn’t add up. You extend the show an extra hour, and cut 11 awards out of the show? Interesting if you ask me.
Here are my predictions for the award show. I will post last years winner, and then this years predicted winner underneath:
Superstar of the year:
2012- John Cena (Who would give his award to Ric Flair)
2013- John Cena
*Breakout Star of the year:
2013- Xavier Woods
Trending now award:
2012- #FeedMeMore -Ryback
2013- #HBShizzle -Shawn Michaels
Comeback of the year:
2012- The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg & Billy Gunn)
2013- Rey Mysterio
Kiss of the year:
2012- AJ Lee & John Cena
2013- AJ Lee & Dolph Ziggler
“Tell Me I Did NOT Just See That” award:
2012- Kofi Kingston handstands during the Royal Rumble match to avoid elimination
2013- Darren Young confesses that he is a homosexual (nothing against homosexuals.)
LOL moment of the year award:
2012- The Rock insulting John Cena by using the history of Boston, Massachusetts
2013- The Rock singing an insulting song about Vickie Guerrero and her horrible fashion
Match of the Year award:
2012- Hell in a Cell match Undertaker vs. Triple H at WrestleMania XXVIII
2013- The Rock vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble 2013
Do your picks match up with mines? If not, tweet me @ShaiVaughnC or Facebook me at ShaiVaughn Crawley to discuss! As always, check back here at SportsMindedNews.com for updates on the Slammy Awards and other upcoming WWE Events such as the TLC PPV taking place on December 15th.
