It has been an interesting week for Thunder’s forward Kevin Durant.
Because being down two games in a playoff series is not bad enough, an Oklahoma newspaper called him “Mr. Unreliable” in a headline Thursday morning. Durant and his team answered back with a Game 6 win against the Memphis Grizzlies, in which Durant scored 36 points.
The weekend was the cherry on top as Durant scored 33 points against the Grizzlies on Saturday in the Thunder’s Game 7 victory to advance to the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.
If that was not enough for Durant, news had also been put out that he will be named the NBA’s 2014 Most Valuable Player.
Whether the headline bothered Durant earlier this week or not, he has to be all smiles with the way the week has played out.
With a new week also brings as new series, as the Los Angeles Clippers come to OKC to play Game 1 on Monday.
The Clippers advanced following a victory over the Golden State Warriors, 126-121, in Game 7 on Saturday. The Clippers also ended on a high note this week following an eventful week with the Sterling situation.
