Kevin Love reportedly requested the Timberwolves to trade him to the Cavaliers

By Sam Torres

According to Sam Amico of FOX Sports, Forward Kevin Love may have formally requested the Minnesota Timberwolves to trade him to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mutliple league sources are under the impression that Love has relayed his desire to join LeBron James in Northeast Ohio to his agent Jeff Schwartz.

While sources could not say for sure if Love has made a formal request, it is certain that if these sources are confirmed, the Cleveland Cavaliers will be able to acquire Kevin Love at a much cheaper cost than what is currently being discussed.

The long-standing rumor has been a swap of 2014 number one overall selection Andrew Wiggins, the 2013 number one overall pick Anthony Bennett and a 2015 first rounder for Kevin Love.

However, with a request made to Minnesota’s front office, Kevin Love may, after all, be able to play alongside Andrew Wiggins and LeBron James in Cleveland.

A further development has been the Cavaliers unwillingness to depart with Wiggins. It was previously reported, after almost a week of refusing to trade the former University of Kansas star, that the Cavs were willing to part with Wiggins in order to obtain Kevin Love.

Amico has recently reported that the Cavs have never offered Wiggins in any trade proposal, despite his name constantly coming up in trade talks.
