Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has led his team to the AFC championship game after defeating the San Diego Chargers, 24-17.
The big question now seems to be how many more times can Manning led the Broncos after the 2013 season.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, sources have told him that Manning will undergo a physical exam in the offseason, that will determine his future for 2014.
If team doctors are not pleased with the results they see from Manning’s exam, the star quarterback may be left with no other option but to retire.
This is not a shock to anyone within the Broncos organization as the check-up was a part of the contract agreement when Manning originally signed with the Broncos.
Manning has set NFL single-season records for passing yards (currently 5,477 yards) and touchdowns (currently 55 touchdowns) in 2013.
Manning said earlier this week, “The light is at the end of the tunnel for me, no question.”
